Periyar

Popularly known as periyar is located in the high ranges of Kerala, the destination is famous for Periyar tiger reserve and the adjoining spice plantations, thekkady is the land of spices like Cardamom pepper and fresh coffee beans .Periyar Tiger reserve is spread out in 777 square KMS and its one among the 50 tiger reserves in India and rich in its bio diversity.

WHAT TO DO IN THEKKADY

Wild life boating through periyar Tiger reserve, Timings will be 7.30 AM, 9.30 AM , 11.15 AM ,1.45 PM ,3.30 PM Duration – 1.30 Hours

Nature walk – Through Periyar Tiger reserve Timings – 7 Am, 10AM , 2AM and duration will be 3 hours, guided trekking

Jeep safari to Gavi forest – Timings 6AM – 4 PM – Duration full day, Boating at Gavi Lake and guided trekking at gavi forest division

Clouds walk :Guided day trek through periyar tiger resrve

Jungle patrol :Guided Night trekking at Periyar tiger reserve

Bamboo rafting :Timing:8 Am – 5 Pm – Duration full day rafting & guided Trekking

Tribal art performance :This is performed by the Mannan tribes of Periyar, timing 6 PM – 7 PM every day at Vanasree Auditorium Thekkady

Spice plantation visit

Elephant ride bathing with and Indian elephant, 45 Minutes elephant ride, bathing with elephant and feeding , elephant,Timber dragging section, photo section

Spice purchase from the local markets of Kumily

Kathakali,kallaripayatu show, duration will be1 hour from 6PM – 7 PM & 7PM – 8PM

Trekking at jungle, spice purchase (pepper and cardamom)
